Quick Summary

Imagine Gilmore Girls, but make it witchy—with a sprinkle of Halloweentown, a dash of sapphic romance, and a whole lot of cozy autumn vibes. In Pumpkin Spice & Poltergeist, we meet Jordyn, an apothecary witch with a talent for chaotic spellwork. Her latest blunder? Accidentally summoning the ghost of her ex-girlfriend… who refuses to leave until Jordyn finds closure (or, you know, new love).

Enter Harlow, the new girl in town who just wants a job at her sister’s café but instead finds herself navigating a town full of real magic, dodging vampires, and—against all odds—falling for a certain potion-brewing, ghost-summoning disaster witch.

What I Loved

  • Impeccable Vibes – This book feels like curling up with a pumpkin chai in a mismatched thrifted mug, wrapped in a chunky-knit sweater while orange leaves fall outside. Cozy, slightly chaotic, and absolutely delightful.

  • Jordyn & Harlow’s Chemistry – Their banter is hilarious, their romance is a perfect mix of slow-burn and instant attraction, and I adored how they navigated their feelings. Cinnamon-sugar sweet with just the right amount of spice.

  • Emotional Depth Sneaks Up on You – Between the snark and spellcasting, there’s a genuinely heartfelt story about moving on, letting go, and finding happiness in unexpected places. Jordyn’s ex isn’t just a ghostly inconvenience—she’s a reminder of how hard it is to break free from the past.

  • The Town of Maple Hollow – If Stars Hollow and Halloweentown had a love child raised on cozy Pinterest boards and vintage spooky postcards, it would be Maple Hollow. I fully believe this town exists somewhere, and I’d like to move there immediately.

  • The Villain is Absolutely Unhinged (In the Best Way) – A jealous, feral, slightly terrifying swamp monster obsessed with Jordyn? Yes, please. She was the perfect mix of campy, petty, and delightfully dramatic.

What Didn’t Quite Work for Me

  • The Ending Wrapped Up a Bit Fast – I would’ve loved just a little more time spent on the resolution, but honestly, I was enjoying the ride so much that I didn’t mind too much.

  • Not Enough Ramona & Iris – If the next book in this series follows them, I am seated.

Who Should Read This?

If you’re into witchy rom-coms, small-town sapphic love stories, or just cozy autumn reads with a supernatural twist, you need this book in your life.

Final Thoughts

This book was an absolute delight. It’s fun, it’s cozy, it’s got just the right amount of emotional depth, and it’s packed with all the best fall vibes. Whether you read it in October with a pumpkin-scented candle burning or in the middle of July while dreaming of cooler weather, Pumpkin Spice & Poltergeist is the kind of book that feels like a warm hug. Highly recommend! 🍂✨
